Inside Outside Tiles Ruislip

Outside-Inside Porcelain Tiles

Indoors Outdoors tiles have two options, 10mm or 20mm. The tiles are exactly the same but with different installation requirements. This is ideal when the tiles are to flow from a room into the garden particularly if you have Bi-Fold or sliding patio doors.

Why use porcelain tiles outside?

Inside Outside Ruislip Porcelain tiles have a water absorption rate of less than 0.5% which means they’re classified by international bodies as being frost-proof.

Slip resistance

External porcelain tiles have a more textured surface than internal porcelain tiles and are given a rating of R11 which means they are suitable for outside use. Porcelain tiles are very dense and incredibly hard. They are resistant to fading and scratches.

Outside-Inside Porcelain Tiles 10mm thick

A growing trend is sliding or bi-fold doors from the kitchen and living area onto the patio. Outside-inside porcelain tiles offer the option of the same tile flowing from the inside onto the patio and gives a remarkable feeling of space. Outside-inside porcelain tiles are available in two finishes natural for the inside and GRIP finish for outside. Outside porcelain tiles are available in some ranges in two thicknesses 20mm and 10mm.

The only difference is the thickness; a 10mm tile has exactly the same qualities as a 20mm thick tile and offers considerable cost savings. They are also available in larger sizes than 20mm thick tiles.

Outside porcelain tiles should be laid on a concrete base. The golden rule is site preparation; it’s well worth preparing the outside concrete base properly to ensure future durability. Visit our showrooms to see large areas of these tiles

Valverdi Ruislip Inside Outside Tiles – What Are The Benefits?

1: A Synchronised Transition From Indoors To Outdoors.

Ideal for both internal and external installations, providing a tangible benefit over most natural stone products that tend to be suitable only for internal and external use, but rarely both.

The 9mm or 10mm tile is designed for internal use and is slip resistant, attractive and easy to clean.

The 20mm external product co-ordinates perfectly, and has an added HD slip-resistant surface making it perfect for a wide range of outdoor settings.

2: Low Porosity, Frost & Stain-Resistant

The Valverdi range will not be damaged by frost, is highly stain-resistant and will not discolour due to algae. This is due to the process in which the product is made that ensures it does not absorb water.

In contrast, natural stone is very porous and needs to be regularly sealed to prevent staining and to reduce the risk of algae discolouration.

Not all natural stone is frost-resistant, which can lead to the surface ‘blowing’ due to frost damage.

3: 100% Colourfast & Easy To Maintain

Valverdi Indoor-Out is 100% colourfast, even after decades in the sun, and it does not change colour when wet.

The product requires little maintenance and is second only to diamond in hardness. It is extremely resistant to scratching.

For more information about looking after Valverdi tiles, see the LTP External Porcelain Cleaning & Protection Guide.

4: Environmentally Friendly

Valverdi porcelain is manufactured from raw materials in a process that uses recycled raw materials. The tiles have a very low whole life environmental cost.

5: Strong & Hard Wearing

Valverdi porcelain is incredibly strong which means the 20mm outdoor tiles can be laid directly onto pedestals.

6: Easy To Lay

The 20mm outdoor tiles can also be laid onto pedestals, making the tiles ideal for use on roof terraces and balconies.

The internal tile can be laid in a standard manner with tile adhesive. For more information about fixing methods, download the Valverdi Installation Guide.

How to style Ruislip Inside Outside Tiles

Whether you’ve got an expansive garden or a small patio your outdoor space should be a place you wish to escape to, where you can relax and unwind. By styling your outdoor space to reflect and enhance your outdoor tiles, you can make your patio an inviting extension of your home.

One easy way to make your outdoor tiles an extension of your home is by using Valverdi Indoor-Out tiles, to seamlessly match your indoor tiles with your outdoor tiles. Whether you are looking to create a new space or style an existing one, we’ve got some styling tips to help you achieve your desired space.

Cosy Country Style Ruislip Inside Outside

If you’ve decided to keep it classic with country style outdoor tiles, then these design ideas will help make your outdoor tiles and space cosy and welcoming.

Cushions and Blankets: Simple, relaxing and cost-effective. Buying some cushions and blankets that reflect the tone of your outdoor tiles will help make your patio inviting. We recommend kitted wool blankets and cushions to create a rustic appearance that will pair brilliantly with a country-style outdoor tile like Valverdi Copse.

Circle Your Chairs: Organize chaises, lawn chairs, and cushions to encourage cosy conversations that last late into the night.

Fairy lights: Don’t underestimate the power of mood lighting. Fairy lights can quickly transform your outdoor tiles and space into a magical setting for you to spend those summer nights in.

Ruislip Inside Outside – Urban Escape

Perhaps you’ve chosen from our cement effect tile range to create an urban feel to your patio. There are many styling options to help you enhance your outdoor tiles to create an urban escape in your very own garden.

Concrete Jungle: If you’re in a city or your patio is small, use your vertical space to introduce greenery. This will give your urban outdoor tiles a softer, contemporary edge.

Patio Fire Bowl: A relaxed seating area with a fire bowl allows the family to linger outdoors on cool evenings.

Contemporary Furniture: If going for an urban feel to your outdoor area try using contemporary furniture to better blend that urban aesthetic. A slate table, matching chairs, or even a chandelier can give your outdoor space that edgy feel.

Fun & Colourful

Whether you’ve chosen cement effect, wood effect or patterned outdoor tiles, with some simple styling choices you can make your patio fun and colourful.

Mix & Match: For an eclectic aesthetic mix and match your furniture and decorations to create an endearing haphazard feel to your garden. Why not try furniture typically used in doors, like a sideboard, to add depth and dimension to your patio.

Coffee Table: Add a side table to create an outdoor reading nook, it will make your outdoor space that much more inviting (and functional) with the addition of a simple, all-weather side table.

Decorate with Candles: Steal a candelabra from your mantel the next time you entertain outside — it will lend soft lighting and a bit of glamour to the party.

We hope these tips will help you style your outdoor tiles and make your outdoor space a welcome extension of your home.

Further suggestions for Ruislip Inside Outside Tiles

With space at a premium inside our houses these days, more and more of us are expanding our homes outwards to create much-needed extra space. This trend doesn’t necessarily involve planning permission however, it’s simply focused on transforming your outside space to have a more ‘interior’ feel and therefore be more functional for you and your family to use during the warmer months.

Utilising a part of your garden as an extension of your living area is a fantastic way to create a seamless look between the outdoors and in. If done right, it can blur the lines between your garden and kitchen, living room or conservatory, creating the look and feel of a single room.

One of the most important features in an outdoor living area is the doorway that leads to it. The most effective way to extend a living area outwards is to use large, foldable sliding doors that quite literally leave the whole wall facing your garden open. This will fill your room with light and means you can easily move from one area to the next, creating the feeling of ‘one’ room. Pair these doors with decking that matches any wooden features you have inside your home, and you’ll have yourself a ready-made outdoors living area! Simply add some seating and accessories that complement the interior of your home and you’re good to go.

Natural Stone flooring is a great alternative to decking, and is often suitable for both indoors and outdoors, so you can use the same tile throughout. It’s not only durable, but is available in many materials and variations so you’re bound to find something that suits both your home and budget.

Whist a more permanent feature such as decking or folding doors might be achievable if you have a large budget, you don’t need to spend a fortune to turn your garden into a more living-friendly area. Think about adding fairy lights around a doorframe or trellis, and bring some potted plants into your kitchen to create a seamless look between the areas. You’ll find some fantastic inspiration here.

Seating is another important aspect of an outdoor living area. Whilst fabric might not be suitable for use outside all year round, you can get a couple of cheap cushions or throws for your outdoor seating for the warmer months or dry, cooler evenings. These will give your garden a welcoming feel and will draw your eye to the detail.
