Walls: Many tile collections are rated for wall use, including decorative, textured and glaze finishes.

Wet zones and bathrooms: Because of their low water absorption and technical specifications, many Porcelanosa porcelain tiles can be used in bathrooms, en suites and shower zones (with correct waterproofing and installation).

Exterior / outdoor use: Porcelanosa offers outdoor resistant tile collections, especially in thick formats and with appropriate slip ratings (though not all lines are suitable outdoors).

Substrate preparation: The base must be flat, level, rigid, clean and dry. Any irregularities must be corrected.

Layout planning: For large formats or decorative patterns, plan the layout before setting.

Use of appropriate adhesive and tools: Porcelain tiles often require high performance flexible adhesives and suitable trowel sizes.

Movement joints and expansion gaps: Especially in large areas, allow for movement to avoid cracking or stress.

Sealing and edge detailing: Seal edges, trims, corners and transitions appropriately.

Correct grouting and cleaning protocols: Use grout compatible with Porcelanosa’s tiles and clean carefully to avoid haze or residues.

General maintenance tips are:

Sweep or vacuum to remove dirt and grit

Mop with a damp mop using a pHneutral tile cleaner

Avoid abrasive, acidic or bleach cleaners which may damage the surface or grout

For textured or relief tiles, use a soft brush to remove dirt from grooves

Clean spills promptly, especially for exterior or high dirt zones

Periodic deep cleaning may help maintain visual appearance

Porcelanosa itself publishes a tile cleaning guide with recommended methods and cleaner types. 

Yes. One of the advantages of tile flooring is that individual pieces can be replaced, provided you retain spare tiles of the same batch and shade. For decorative or patterned collections, care must be taken to match orientation, shade and texture.

We recommend ordering a 5 – 10 % extra quantity at purchase to allow for cuts, waste and future repairs.
